What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, unless that ‘what’ is winning the Mountain West Tournament. The Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas will play host to this year’s tournament to crown a champion and determine who receives an automatic bid to the big dance. No. 1 seed and regular season co-champion Nevada is the only nationally ranked team in the tournament. The Wolf Pack enter the postseason with only three losses to their name and will be aiming to improve their chances at a high seed for March Madness.

The Aggies of Utah State will be hoping to ruin Nevada’s party, just like they did by grabbing a share of the regular season title. All eyes will be on the two top teams in anticipation of them squaring off in a potential championship match decider. The pair made national news recently after Utah State upset the Wolf Pack 81-76 on March 2. Their fans stormed the court and allegedly harassed Nevada’s players as they left for the locker rooms. Trouble escalated in the tunnel when the two teams collided in a physical altercation. Needless to say, these two teams meet once again could produce some major fireworks.

The other nine schools in the conference will be trying to prevent that rematch from taking place. No. 3 seed Fresno State and No. 4 seed San Diego State appear to be the biggest threats. The Bulldogs are coming in red-hot after scoring 121 points in their season finale against San Jose State. If reigning Mountain West Player of the Week Deshon Taylor can replicate his recent success, they have a chance to make some noise. Meanwhile, San Diego State is one of only three teams to hand Nevada a loss this season. They are also the defending champions of this tournament.

If the Mountain West hopes to secure more than one entrant into the NCAA tournament, someone will likely need to knock off Nevada to do it. Watch these conference tournament games – plus the entire NCAA Tournament – live on fuboTV. Sign up now for a free trial.
