2019 NBA Draft first round pick order

The New Orleans Pelicans lucked into the first pick of the 2019 NBA Draft on Tuesday night, and the draft order is set.

The NBA Draft Lottery wasn’t kind to the worst teams in the league, as the Knicks, Cavs and Suns – who combined for fewer wins than the Warriors or Bucks – will pick third, fifth and sixth, respectively. Each team entered the lottery with a 14 percent chance to land the No. 1 pick and potentially select Williamson, but the 33-win Pelicans and Grizzlies vaulted up the board.

Unlike the NFL Draft, the NBA Draft does not take into account playoff results – so the Warriors could go on to win the NBA title and still receive a better pick than the Milwaukee Bucks, for example. For non-lottery teams with identical records, a random drawing was held to break ties.
