This Australian fashion brand is all over Instagram right now (and we want the lot)

Just when you thought you’d nailed the art of the summer dress and completed your list of top 10 brands in this arena, along comes another that you’d not only never heard of but that flies immediately to the top of said list. Sound familiar?

While you may think you have enough dresses, you really need to trust us when we assure you that you do not. No one does. It’s an unattainable concept.

Good, so now we’ve all agreed that we’re in the market for a new one, let us introduce you to Lee Mathews (just the one ‘t’ – crucial for that Google search you’re inevitably about to do).

Having launched her eponymous label in Australia twenty years ago, she has spent two decades being worn and loved by fashion editors and those in-the-know, but we’ve noticed that this season in particular has seen it dominate the summer dress landscape – already one of the most competitive sartorial arenas.

Bursting with unexpected twists on classic prints (think mixed checks and particularly leafy foliage), dresses may not be Lee’s only offering but they have no doubt been the pieces dominating on Instagram this summer with some of our favourite influencers turning to her designs to elevate and refresh their wardrobes.

Back to the mountains 🍃

Two of her most popular pieces this summer were split designs, with the dress quite literally split down the middle, with one colourway to the right and another to the left. One floral print dress and another checked number, the pattern remains the same while the hue is changed up adding dimension and depth. And, quite frankly, it’s made us want to cut all our dresses in half and sew them to one another.

Needless to say, Lee’s crisp white blouses, flattering flared trousers and square-toe sandals are also v high up on our shopping list. Swoon.
